This weekend we had the opportunity to take Michael out to the Bandits Goaltending Christmas Clinic (www.banditsgoaltending.com) and it was an awesome experience. They spent a few hours on the ice saturday and sunday working through some very focused skill building. It was really cool to see the amount of progress he has made with just a few hours of instruction. Hopefully he can take this experience with him and put it to work in his day to day practices and games. I’d definitely recommend Bandits to anyone looking to get their goalie to the next level, regardless of their age. Which brings up another point…they treated Mikey with the same level of respect and had the same expectations of him as the older, more experienced players, despite the fact that he was the youngest skater on the ice this weekend. This was our first experience with the Bandits training system (aside from private lessons with Coach Joe Messina) and I was absolutely blown away by the professionalism and expertise of all those on the ice this weekend. Because of this short camp, Mikey is anxious to take their full week long camp next summer.
